As a church our commission is clear: Jesus commanded us to "go into all the world" Matthew 28:19. At First Baptist we take our calling seriously as we seek to take the good news of Jesus Christ to all peoples--to take his message to Monticello and Wayne County, all across the bluegrass state, to every corner of our great nation, and throughout the world.
There are a number of ways in which we are regionally involved in missions work, both at the state and national level. From eastern Kentucky to Maryland to Mississippi, we have sent teams to do a variety of mission works. This has included construction, home and church repair, Vacation Bible Schools, backyard Bible clubs, street ministry, and a variety of evangelism efforts.
We also recognize the importance of financially supporting mission work at the state and national level. Therefore, we emphasize and participate in vital mission offerings such as the Eliza Broadus offering for state missions and the Annie Armstrong offering for North American missions.
