Local

As a church our commission is clear: Jesus commanded us to "go into all the world" Matthew 28:19. At First Baptist we take our calling seriously as we seek to take the good news of Jesus Christ to all peoples--to take his message to Monticello and Wayne County, all across the bluegrass state, to every corner of our great nation, and throughout the world.

Locally, we are striving to do that in a number of ways. One of the primary ways is through Operation Inasmuch, a one-day ministry blitz that is conducted across our community. This includes showing the love of Christ in tangible ways, such as: home repair, backyard Bible clubs, sewing projects, serving treats for local officials and service workers (police, firefighters, etc.), washing cars, serving meals, helping at the HOPE Center, and many other tasks.

Additionally, we host a Harvest Festival in the fall which gives us the opportunity to fellowship, witness, and serve people from all walks of life in our community. It is an excellent opportunity to build relationships and share the Gospel with people right here at home.

There are just a few of the ways in which we strive to be a part of local missions.
