As a church our commission is clear: Jesus commanded us to "go into all the world" Matthew 28:19. At First Baptist we take our calling seriously as we seek to take the good news of Jesus Christ to all peoples--to take his message to Monticello and Wayne County, all across the bluegrass state, to every corner of our great nation, and throughout the world.
We take very seriously the call that God has given us all for global missions. Over the past several years, we have sent numerous teams to countries around the globe, including Russia, Poland, Tanzania, Brazil, and Peru. We have been involved in church planting, evangelism, construction, prayer-walking, and a variety of other crucial elements of global missions.
In addition, we realize the importance of prayer and support for our IMB missionaries stationed around the world. For this reason, we strongly emphasize the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions and seek to lend as much financial and prayer support as we can to the missionaries, the IMB, and the Cooperative Program.
